Priwine Christmas Pack
The Christmas holidays are approaching, so we have come up with this perfect wine combination to accompany important lunches or dinners.
For the white wines we have the Pecorino Super Giulia, from the Ofena valley in Abruzzo, 100% pecorino, winner of the 3 bicchieri gambero rosso and the best pecorino in Italy award. Intense yellow and exuberant aromas of passion fruit, grapefruit and bitter orange.
The second white is the 2017 Rocca Coeli Etna Bianco, the first edition of Salvatore Geraci's Etna wines from Faro Palari. Carricante and Minnella, straw yellow with greenish reflections, scent of white fruit, anise, green almond and vegetable hints on a background of saline notes. Wine great freshness and flavour with a long finish on notes of fresh almonds.
For the sparkling wines a brut rosé and a dosaggio zero riserva from Letrari. The brut is a Pinot Noir vinified in rosé, delicate and brilliant antique pink colour, intense bouquet, fine, with dominant notes of small red fruits (currants, wild strawberries and raspberries) and velvety.
Dosage Zero Riserva is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Dry, decisive and vertical, characterised by an interesting acid note. The colour is golden, bright and lively. The bouquet offers a range of fragrances from bread crust to vanilla tones, on a background of apple cream and dried fruit. The taste is full with notes of ripe apple raised on a background of citrus and hazelnut.
For the reds, two pure wines. The first is a 100% Pinot Noir from Serafini and Vidotto, elegant and refined. The first nose is extremely fruity of ripe raspberries, wild strawberries and tamarind; this is followed by a caressing floral note of violet and cyclamen; then, gradually, more complex and balsamic hints of eucalyptus and bitter chocolate with candied citrus peel emerge. The taste is fresh, on sweet, round tannins and balanced sapidity.
The second is a 100% Nebbiolo from Rainoldi. Il Fruttaio Ca' Rizzieri. It is a Sforzato di Valtellina (the first dry raisin wine to obtain the DOCG in Italy, Amarone came later...), a powerful but balanced wine, where softness and hardness find their perfect balance, with an interminable finish.
